my father is a funny man.
dad: you pierced your nose?
me: ya, dad.
dad: (squints) come closer, i want to see it. (puts on glasses)...did it hurt?
me: nope. not at all.
dad: you should get a bigger one.
me: uhh... i was actually thinking of going smaller.
dad: NO! you need it bigger so people can SEE it... so I can really see it!
me: (smiled... yet laughing inside) you don't think mine's big enough?
dad: no. bigger. (as he nods)... (glancing at the nose ring again) yours doesn't shine very well. it's not a real diamond is it?
me: no...
dad: ya. you should get a REAL diamond so it REALLY shines.
me: ... O_o?? (speechless)
